How London pharmacies present private services and delivery online

Delivery appeared in public service information for 13%, showing a gap between the treatments customers research online and the access information they can find.

Key findings

Private treatment is widespread. Delivery information is less visible.

Private weight-management, sexual-health and other discreet services are common across the audited pharmacies. The audit records a smaller public footprint for delivery, leaving customers with less information about access after they have found a relevant treatment.

Private treatment

A growing range of services is visible across London

The audit found a private or discreet treatment category at every pharmacy reviewed. Weight-management and sexual-health services appear frequently in the recorded service information, reflecting the types of treatment many customers research before visiting a pharmacy.

Public service information shapes the first step of access.

Sixty-seven per cent of audited pharmacies describe private or discreet services in public information, helping customers identify a suitable service before they make contact.

Delivery details can make private access more understandable.

Thirteen per cent of audited pharmacies mention delivery in their public service information. Clear delivery information helps customers understand how a service can fit into their day after a treatment has been selected.

Delivery access

Delivery has not kept pace with the service offer

Seven per cent of audited pharmacies operate as online or distance-selling businesses. The wider group blends online service discovery with community-pharmacy access, creating an opportunity to make collection and delivery options easier for customers to understand.

Same-day delivery

Fast delivery remains a limited market option

A 2025 Gophr audit of major online pharmacies found 12% offering same-day delivery and 60% using next-day delivery as the fastest stated option. The findings provide wider market context for London pharmacies considering how delivery access supports an online service.
